Amanda Axsentieff
Clinical Psychologist

Amanda has an interest in working with older adults, people with addiction issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, women experiencing menopause and perimenopause symptoms as well as mood and anxiety related conditions. Amanda completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She has clinical experience providing evidence based psychological treatments to individuals across the lifespan. Amanda works from a trauma informed basis, providing a non- judgemental and safe place to address client goals. Amanda has worked in various settings including public health (Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, Persistent Pain Management Service and Community Chronic Conditions service) and private hospital inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. Amanda has also been involved in the EMBED program, completing research into treatment of depression of older adults receiving aged care services at home.

​Amanda practices Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, ACT, Schema therapy, EMDR and Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. She has a trained therapy dog to provide Animal Assisted Therapy. Amanda is a Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), APS Clinical College, Australia Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (AACBT), Australian and New Zealand Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ANZ ACBS) and is an associate member of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). Amanda is a STAP Psychology Board Approved Supervisor and may be contacted for one off or ongoing clinical supervision.

Peter is committed to providing collaborative psychotherapy based on warmth, compassion and respect. He enjoys working with adults across the lifespan, using evidence-based treatments for difficulties relating to anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationships. Peter completed his Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the Queensland University of Technology. Peter believes in the value of adopting strategies to help clients with their present-day difficulties, while also exploring previous circumstances that may have led to these experiences, promoting wellbeing through greater understanding. This approach aims to provide shorter term support, while helping clients to better understand themselves, identify meaningful goals and tangible strategies, and make lasting changes to improve overall wellbeing.

Peter has worked in private practice, public hospitals, and community mental health, treating a wide range of psychological difficulties across the lifespan, including experience working with inpatients in acute mental health services. Peter has a broad life experience, previously working in engineering, management and financial roles. He is an endorsed Clinical Psychologist and holds general registration with the AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia.

Peter uses various evidence based therapeutic approaches to inform treatment, including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Peter is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and APS Clinical College.

George is a remarkable therapy dog whose gentle demeanour and compassionate nature make him an invaluable asset in various therapeutic settings. With his soft fur and kind eyes, George has an innate ability to provide comfort and support to individuals facing emotional or physical challenges.

In addition to his exceptional temperament, George has undergone extensive training to excel in his role as a therapy dog. His obedience, patience, and ability to remain calm in various situations make him well-suited for interacting with diverse populations in therapeutic environments. George's presence not only brings smiles and warmth to those he interacts with but also contributes to improving overall well-being and enhancing the therapeutic experience for individuals seeking comfort and emotional support.

George enjoys greeting clients in the waiting room, he likes to play tug with toys and enjoys chest rubs and back scratches. He is partial to vegetables, particularly carrots.
